Sweet Illusion

Sweet Illusion
My sweet, oh my sweet illusion
My most tempting confusion
Have you seen me lately?
My dear, oh my secret lover
My teacher, my brother
Have you seen me lately?
I’ve been sleeping for days at this place
Down by the bolder.
Covered in moss and stars,
Grieving a lover
And I know that the path that we made
Is covered in blessings
So I carved you a rune stone here
If ever you return
You will feel my love
I took myself to the water
Put incense and flowers down
And called in the one
I made a small boat out of paper
Put my longing inside her,
And gave thanks to the breeze
Take away this sweet illusion
Give me back sweet simplicity
I took myself to the water
Put incense and flowers down
And called in the one who guides me
I made a small boat out of paper
Put my longing inside her,
And gave thanks to the breeze
Take away this sweet illusion
Give me back sweet simplicity
Take away,
Takes away this sweet illusion

Honey Soup

Honey Soup
Time to give thanks for this vessel
This sweet ship I sail in
I know you carry me onward
I know you carry me home
Time to give thanks for this spirit
The spirit inside me
You're always there when I call you
I know you carry me home
The full moon is singing
The candles are burning
My body is aching now
A fever surrounds me
It wasn't invited but for three days or more
You call and crawl, down all the corridors
And all the hallways of my body and mind
Creaking and bending like a tall ship
I am forced to surrender
Back to the place
Where I will die and was born
Where I will die and was born
To the honey soup of it all
Time to give thanks for the sadness
The sadness inside me
I know you're teaching me kindness
I know you carry me home
Time to give thanks for the beauty
The art of forgiveness
You're always there when I call you
I know you carry me home
Creaking and bending like a tall ship
I am forced to surrender
Back to the place
Where I will die and was born
Where I will die and was born
To the honey soup of it all
I know you carry me home
I know you carry me home
I know you carry me home…
To the honey soup of it all
So I’m overflowing with love
For this earthen body
For these fingers and toes,
And this story as ancient as
This old stone I lie upon

The Canoe

The Canoe
Young mother your time has come
Walk down the forest
By the river you’ve made
To the void
The void we all know and come from
Oh spirit child you are called
Row down the river
On your birch bark canoe made of love
And your mothers body
Her song is your sail
Call on the ancient memory guiding you here
I’m lighting candles for you drawing you near
Hmm I know you can hear
Take hold of his hand
He stands at the gate, he’s trembling
I sing the song to belong
The song to choose life
I sing it loud so you hear
You are loved completely!
You are the perfect embrace
To your mother’s heart
You fit perfectly in your father’s hands
We call in the song to welcome you
Call on the ancient memory guiding you here
Breath in your bloodline, song-line drawing you near
Young mother your time has come
Walk down the forest
By your barefooted land
You’ll travel for miles
His song is your sail
Her song is your sail
Oak oak oak of old,
Strong and brave as the story told
With leaves of green and nuts of brown
In autumn he wears a golden crown

Human Kindness

Human Kindness
I know that there’s more to this ugly game
I see a war designed to never be tamed
I’ve slept in the rubble amongst the shame
Screaming at the bombs
This is not in my name
I’m seeking kindness
I’m longing for safety
I’m praying for home
I’m craving compassion
Searching for sanity
Praying for home
I’ve been stripped to the bone
Home Is where we can belong
Home Is where our children grow strong
Home Is where the fire burns long
Home Is where peace can come from
I’ve traveled for months,
Ran thousands of miles
I fled the land that holds the heart of my kin
And I know you now see the torn state I’m in
I can’t tell you my name or the places I’ve been
I’m seeking kindness...
Home Is where we can belong
Home Is where our children grow strong
Home Is where the fire burns long
Home Is where peace can come from
I’m praying for human kindness
I’m praying for human kindness
I’m praying for human forgiveness
I’m praying for us to all to belong
They call me a migrant
They call me a thief
They call me a beggar man
An asylum seeker
I was once a teacher
I was once a family man
I was once a dreamer
A community leader
And I’ve seen friends and family
All scattered and broken
And we don’t know why
The cruelty keeps raging
Yes I’m seeking your kindness
I’m longing for safely
I’m praying for home
I’m craving compassion
Searching for meaning
And I feel so alone
I’ve been stripped to the bone
Home Is where we can belong
Home Is where our children grow strong
Home Is where the fire burns long
Home Is where peace can come from
Home Is where peace can come from….

Only Love
04:34
|

Only Love
Only love can sail this soul
Only love can set this boat to coarse
Only love will be there when I go
To reach for the depth, the unknown
Only love can sail this soul
It’s written in the wind
It’s laced in every breath we breath
It’s written in your hair as I stroke it
Your lips as I kiss your resolve
Only love can sail this soul
Only love can break all of this illusion
When I tumble and fall
I know it’s the grace that comes in
That comes in,
Oh love sail this soul
Only love can sing this soul
I’ve roamed the mountains
To the breaking waves
And I met the storm wild in it’s raging
When nothing could be in control
I saw love guide me home
It’s sending shivers running down my spine
As it comes in to surround me
I know I can meet the divine
Only love can hold
The fullness and the emptiness
I’m on my knees as I see
The bounty this life, it gifts to me
It gifts to me
I’m made of tears, made of longing
Made of crystal stone
I’m made of loving, made of kindness
Wrapped in prayers and bone.
I’m made of sunlight, made of memory
And all I’ve ever known is
Love sail this soul
Love sail me home…

Deep As We Dare

Deep As We Dare
We dissolve, you & I
Like a calm river tide
Golden woods we lie
Wrapped in sunlight and leaves
Arms entwined
Oh beautiful blue
We’re timeless already
Let’s dive as deep as we dare
As deep as we dare
As deep as we dare…
Ooh, life is rich
And we have much to share
Autumn leaves passing through
Takes our mood over
With storm clouds
Revealing wounded heartstrings
Oh may kindness and love
Heal these things
Oh beautiful blue
We’re timeless already
Let’s dive as deep as we dare
As deep as we dare
Dare…
Life is rich
And we have much to share
I call to the wind in the north sea
My heart comes to find you
In your wild company
We both agree
Truth calls to be shared
And this heart longs to
Dive as deep as we dare
Oh beautiful blue
We’re timeless already
Let’s dive as deep as we,
As we dare

Alive
05:09
|

Alive
We’ve been searching
For the open road
So we took to the mountains
Back to earth and stone
We pulled it apart right at the thread
As it didn’t serve love anymore
I keep my heart clear over the ridge
With your emerald green eyes
You’re the wildest soul I’ve ever known,
Let’s go from here
With your emerald green eyes
You’re the wildest soul,
And we’ll find our way somehow
We’ll find our way somehow
As we gaze to the golden sun setting
Tonight our bed is outside,
As we’re completely lost but alive inside
I never felt so alive inside
All this talking
Is making me feel old
So we took to the hillsides
I kiss the earth, and I kiss the stone
All that we need we have on our backs
The call of the moon is running strong
I keep my heart clear under the stars
With your emerald green eyes
You’re the wildest soul I’ve ever known
Let’s roam far and wide
With your emerald green eyes
You’re the wildest soul
And we’ll find our way somehow
We’ll find our way somehow
As we gaze to the golden sun setting
Tonight our bed is outside,
As we’re completely lost but alive, inside
I never felt so alive inside
We’re burning with life
Inside, my compass my guide
Inside, the space opens wide
And the peace that I find
I feel so alive
Inside
We’ll find our way somehow

Call To The Wind
03:57
|

Call To The Wind
Call to the wind, may you light up this sail
And guide our way home again safely
I call to the sun, I drink in your gold
May you return to warm up these shorelines
I call to the night, that sings to the wild
And I ask it to wrap me in blackness
Who is circling,
Who is searching,
Who is here at the dawn light?
I’m right here,
I’m right here at the dawn light

Red Clay Woman

Red Clay Woman
I met an old woman today
Painted red,
Red as the clay on the ground
She said,
“Do you see me standing here
I don't know I just don't know if I'm seen”?
I said,
“Yes I see so clearly,
You chilled my bones but I hold your gaze”
I was out in red desert land
Where I roamed
With my thoughts and my way
And I stumbled upon a valley
Painted red,
Red as the clay in my dreams
It was there she caught my eye
Below me, frozen still
Her hands were held to heart
Her eyes spoke right through me,
She said,
“Do not take anything here,
Do not touch, do not take”
She said,
“Do not take anything here,
Do not take”
And I see you,
Red clay woman I see…
And It was just an hour ago
I had found a piece
Of old clay pot on the ground
It touched such a longing in me
For a sense I remember,
So I’d kept it like a precious find
So I went back the same way I came
And I placed it on the soft red sand
I could feel these wise old hands
Who knew the story of this land
I said,
“I won’t take anything here,
I will not touch I will not take”
I said,
“I won’t take anything here,
I will not take”
And I see you,
Red clay woman I see…
She said,
“Do not take anything here,
Do not touch do not take”
She said,
“This valley is sacred to us,
Sacred as tears,
And holds the bones of my kin”
She said
“You do not know who sees you,
But we see you
She said,
“You do not know who sees you,
But we see you”
She said,
“This is my peoples spirit land,
My people’s spirits land,
Our people’s spirit land

Summertime

|

Summertime
Our time is running low
God I hate this but I have to go
The season changed from sun to snow
Hmmm my heart sits here in overflow
Hmmm, my heart sits here in overflow
Now we’re miles apart it seems
And we both can see the finish line
It’s too hard severed like this
A gentle heart a tender kiss
Hmmm I know that I will miss this but
Free yourself
Let's free ourselves
I have no intention of holding you down
Shine your light
Live your life
We were just a moment of cascading love
And I love you like the summertime
How we flow so easily
That’s how I hold you in my memory
I’ll always love you like the summertime
And I say to
Free yourself
Let's free ourselves
I have no intention of holding you down
Shine your light
Live your life
We were just a moment of cascading love
And I love you like the summertime
How we flow so easily
That’s how I hold you in my memory
I’ll always love you like the summertime
