Isabelle 04:15
Isabelle I’d like to give you some peace today I think you need it And I have enough to give away. As I slept deeply last night And I woke to hear you cry You’re crying “why, why me?” I learnt your name was Isabelle I heard him scream it You stood there frowning silently. You ran so fast in the storm I prayed you wouldn’t fall Tears and all. Strength to you Isabelle It’ll be alright. No more anger Isabelle Your soul is calling out. This unseen stranger’s singing I’m singing for you Tears and all. I’d like to send a smile your way Help to heal you and I don’t think you’ve had one all day. As I lie peaceful and warm tonight the sky begins to rain It’s raining tears for you. So now I’m singing a song for you And I hope you feel it As it’s all I know how to do. And now I’m on the road again I hope that you are free, as free as me I hope that you are free As free as me. Strength to you Isabelle It’ll be alright. No more anger Isabelle Your soul, your soul’s calling out. This unseen stranger’s singing I’m singing for you Tears and all. This unseen strangers singing for you Tear and all. Singing for you.. Tears and all.

Complete Faith And we could foresee, and we once agreed that we could be sailors. How beautifully you smiled, thinking we could be anything we dreamed of. Take a little time, I know you’ll find the answers. I’m just wondering why you look so sad now. What’s it all for If you can’t sit at my table? What’s it now to be If you can’t learn to forgive me? As I don’t know my lines And I never really plan to But I know for sure That I would just prefer too Have complete faith in you, Have complete faith in me. And we could foresee, and we once agreed that we could be lovers. How beautifully you smiled, knowing we could be anything we dreamed to be. I’ll just take a little time, I know I’ll find the answers. I’m just wishing you didn’t seem so sad now… What’s it all for If you can’t sit at my table? What’s it now to be If you can’t learn to forgive me? As I don’t know my lines And I never really plan to I know for sure That I would just prefer too Have complete faith in you, Have complete faith in me. Just have a little faith in you, Have a little faith too.

The Gin Song 04:44
The Gin Song I’m tired, I wanna go home. I’m tired and i just wanna go home. As I see with a bitter conclusion that you’ve just become Another illusion of mine. I wanna go home, I’m tired, i just I wanna go home. As you seem to just want to fight me and I refuse, But one day I just might break when I see you. You laugh, but you lied, As I know you loved me for a moment of time. And I’ll cry my way out of this And I know I’ll be smiling again Well maybe, maybe, maybe. I feel like I’m loosing my mind, I feel like I’m stepping out of line. And it goes against all my beliefs when I say this, But I’m having trouble with faith for the moment. You laugh, but you lied, As I know you loved me for a moment of time. And I’ll cry my way out of this, And I know I’ll be smiling again, Well maybe, maybe, maybe. I feel like I’m running out of time, Feel like I’m running out of time. As I see you in such a different way now, And I see that you’re just an illusion of mine. Well I can laugh, but I lied, As you know I loved you for a moment of time. And I never meant for you to be lonely again, Lonely like me, And I’ll cry my way out of this, And I’ll know I’ll be smiling again, Well maybe, maybe, maybe. Maybe, maybe, maybe...

Friend of Mine Friend of mine Today I heard your voice next to mine And I recalled your sweet haunting sound. Friend of mine I still hear your voice next to mine And this lonely song starts to dance Inside your harmony. Travelling friend of mine Now I’m wondering where you could be And I’ll close my eyes and sing with you To your peaceful harmony. Now the air’s stood still You slowly fade from me But the pure moonlight surrounds me. And I’m enchanted by this view Do you really feel it too? Travelling friend of mine Now I’m wondering where you could be So I’ll close my eyes and sing with you To your peaceful harmony.. Travelling friend of mine Now I’m wondering where you could be So I’ll close my eyes and sing with you..

Misty Water 04:01
Misty Water Oh Irish sea shore, it’s you I adore. Rock me like a baby, Embrace the core of me, Come back for all of me. Oh breathing water, I bow to your law. As you hypnotise me, Embrace the core of me, Swallow me down, down, down, Spin me round, round, round, I’ll keep my back to the ground. Oh misty water, You take my heart over, Now I’ve held your hand, Can’t turn away from you, Still have the taste of you. Oh Irish sea shore, It’s you I adore, Rock me like a baby, Embrace the core of me, Swallow me down, down, down, Spin me round, round, round, I’ll keep my back to the ground. Oh I’m trying to find my way. Oh I’m trying to breath your way. I’ll spiral right back to the ground, Spin me round, Swallow me down.. I’ll spiral right back to the ground, Spin me round swallow me down

Hard to leave Roll on by It’s time I packed my bags again, I’m leaving when the morning comes to greet me. Que sera sera, My last night in this empty hall, With nothing but a cricket’s call consoling. I’ll close my eyes But there’s no way I’m sleeping, My dreams would have me creeping back to you. Rain is that you? Oh please keep pouring, You know the one I’ve fallen for, He sings for you. Never thought it would be this hard, Hard to leave. Roll on by As I’ll never see your face again, The way you stared into my soul that morning. Que sera sera, We never mention this again, Just like a silent song I write that stays hidden. Fear is that you That I’ve been denying? I’ll let your stubborn crying teach me. Storm is that you? Oh please keep pounding, I love your angry crying, It wakes me. Never thought it would be this sad Sad to love I’ll close my eyes But there’s no way I’m sleeping, My dreams would have me creeping back to you. Rain is that you? Oh please keep pouring, I love your gentle crying, It heals me, Never thought it would be this hard, Hard to learn. Never thought it would be this hard, Hard to leave...

Maya 05:20
Maya I hear the whispering waves calling my name, "Come home soon, come home soon”. I said, “I’ve fallen in love with a man who walks upon the land, And he touched me without his hands”. But I hear the changing tide I hear it’s angry cry. “Is there nothing I can say You’re a prison to the land Do you not remember who hurt you? Do you not remember who hurt you?” Oh maya hear my plea, I must set myself free No deeper, I need to breath. Each day that you implore my footprints on your shore, We’ll sing a lullaby. But illusions never shown, The moon she draws me home, “Is there nothing I can say You’re a prisoner to his power Do you not remember who saved you? Do you not remember who saved you?” I hear the whispering waves calling my name, “Stay free”. I hear the whispering waves there still calling my name ..calling your name, “Stay free…Stay free...”

Can you hear me? Please could you explain to me again I didn’t hear the way it ends this time. I fell asleep too soon Into a waking dream. Can you hear me? I’ve been wondering If there’s someone searching for me Waiting for me. Now all this, this talk of love is so unchanging. But I feel it though When night’s so silent here It’s too quiet in here. Can you hear me? I’ve been wondering If there’s someone searching for me Waiting for me. I’m sitting by a river in the evening And I’m singing to a soul I haven’t met yet And for all the freedom I have I hide my love inside It’s too easy to ignore it And I always walk away I always walk away Get too scared to stay. Too scared to stay. But could you hear me If you needed? As there is time now I’ll wait for you. Can you hear this Are you listening Can you feel this? I’ll wait for you I’ll wait for you, I’ll wait for you...

Inside her tears (free) 03:51
Inside Her Tears Inside her tears I found the cave where she’s hiding. And when I asked her she said, “The stars are fading”. Inside her kingdom Now destroyed by strangers. She whispers, “There’s a place surviving”. Inside her gaze I looked away for an answer. I sat beside her She said, “I’ve longed to show you”. Inside her thoughts I crept right through to her secret, And holding my hand, She said, “It’s never ending”. Embraces me. Embraces me. Inside my prayers I walk for days in silence. I long to find her but she sleeps so deeply. I try to explain why we still choose to ignore her, But quietly she sad, "Just remember". She carry’s me inside her tears. Embraces me, Embraces me.

Serenity 05:35
Serenity Tell me I’m listening this time. I’m right here Staying for a while. As I feel glimpses of you In the silent curves of my mind. As I focus more I’m shifting closer I’m open hearted again. Oh I’ve found you I’m back inside you… Serenity I’ll sway Through you like a breeze It’s beautiful. And I’ll wear my heart on my sleeve It’s clearer there. I’ve seen you on the wind As daylight starts to fade. As I raise my head I’m breathing deeper I’m light and clearer again. Oh I’ve found you I’m back inside you…. Serenity. I know just what to do I learnt it life times ago. I’m remembering to remember To just surrender again. Thank god I found you I’m back inside you…. Serenity. So tell me As I’m ready this time.

about

'Recorded in various kitchens, hallways, churches, living rooms and studios around the UK, 'The Kitchen Table'
is a travelling nomad much like myself.
In the making of this album, I had the opportunity to gather some of my favourite musicians from around the country including players of strings, horns, guitars, piano and percussion. They have become dear friends through the years, and I feel honoured to have their touch and sound on these recordings.
I am really grateful to be able to release this body of work into the world, and hope whoever hears it will enjoy it, and feel the love and life that has gone into it' Carrie
